you here?
This article is purely based on my experiences and opinions. This will not guarantee you anything. These are just some helpful tips I've acquired through-out the years
Really intend to give:
Don't give someone a gift because you feel like you have to. In that case, just give cash then. A really good gift should really come from your heart. I know what you're thinking. Wow how cliche. But think about it. If you try your hardest to get someone something you'd think they'd really like and enjoy rather than just having the attitude that you have to give them something, they are more likely to appreciate it and like it.
Know the Person:
Make sure you know this person fairly well. What are his/her hobbies? Do they collect things? Are they picky? These might seem like obvious questions but trust me, I've gone gift shopping with friends to try to help them out and I ask "what's their favorite color" and they give me a dear in the headlights look. They have no idea. From this point, gift shopping becomes a guessing game.
Need vs Want:
One time, my aunt told me that she loves getting gifts that she would never buy herself but still want them. For me, I'm the opposite. I'd rather get something I know I have to buy. For example, I'm an art student so every semester I have to buy paint, brushes, charcoal, drawing pads, etc. I'd honestly rather have a few supplies of about 25 bucks than maybe something like clothes I don't really need that probably cost more. This is kinda a tricky. You have really know the person.
